Low Income Program

Through a partnership with Community Action Partnership (CAP) Agencies, Lake City Utilities provides assistance to qualified low-income homeowners to upgrade to energy-efficient ENERGY STAR-rated products. The utility covers the cost of replacing inefficient lighting (up to $70 in value) and certain working appliances that are at least 10 years old.

While making weatherization/conservation service visits to low-income households, the CAP Agency looks for potential installation of the following ENERGY STAR-qualified equipment:

  • LED bulbs
  • Refrigerators
  • Microwave ovens (do not have to be ENERGY STAR qualified)
  • Clothes washers
  • Room air conditioners

If you are interested in participating in this program, please contact your local CAP Agency to determine your eligibility. Funding for this program may be limited.
